Kindle used to detect burglery
According to this article, a family had gone out of town and left their Kindle behind, but then they started getting emails informing them that they had just purchased some books. What? No they hadn't. So, they called a neighbor to check on their home. Sure enough, someone had broken in and robbed them.

The pedant in me is compelled to point out that someone had BURGLED them, not ROBBED them. Robbery is theft from a person, in the presence of that person - ie it's a "hold-up".

I was once told that there's a difference between burglary and breaking and entering depending on whether it's daytime or night time. I think burglary was night time but don't quote me, it may not even be true.
