ePub - Minor rendering problem
I just started to read A Game of Thrones that I checked out from my library's digital catalog when I noticed something odd on my Kobo (Sorry about the bad pic)
![]() Notice the first letter looks odd? Well, this is how it should look, as correctly rendered in ADE: ![]() Has anybody run into this issue with other books? I've only read a couple but this is the first I've seen this happen with. |

Yeah. Unfortunately dropcaps don't work properly on the Kobo, among other advanced text formatting options.

If it works in ADE for Windows, it should work with ADE on the Kobo. I just don't get hos Kobo can have so many really annoying bugs with ADE that nobody else has. |

Well, I found the CSS for the dropcaps:
span.dropcaps { float: left; font-size: 80px; line-height: 70px; padding-top: 1px; margin-top: -.09em; margin-right: .09em; } The font-size attribute that I bolded above is what the Kobo Touch has an issue with, particularly the fixed font size. If I change that line to a percentage, such as font-size: 400%, the dropcaps display perfectly. But changing it back to any fixed size causes the KT to ignore it. So here's another rendering error to add to the list. Hopefully they address this with a future update. |
