buy.com has refurbished Nook Colors for sale for $169 ($179 - $10 rebate).

Shipped and sold by barnes and noble.

at the risk of being paranoid, the same refurbished nook color is available on bn.com for $179. The legal terms said that the returns/warranty are governed by the seller (in this case, buy.com). I guess knowing that bn will service it without any legal mumbo jumbo is worth the 10 bucks.

While I usually don't buy refurbished devices, either, there are cases where I make an exception. Both Apple and B&N refurbs are as good as the original (with new battery and chassis) and have the same 1 year warranty that their brand new counterparts have. In this case, why pay full price when you can get the exact same thing for much cheaper?

At this price, root it and you'll have a nice android tablet that can be used as a nook or a kindle...

add free games from the app stores,

and throw in Netflix

, and you've got a fun toy...
