Hi - New and searching for the start
Hi I am Hans from the city of Mainz - and I am glad I found this forum.
I work in a publishing house where the editors user readers. But I would like to read the ebooks on my laptop with calibre run under Ubuntu. But I just can't find out, how to get an e-book on my computer without having any reader device. Hans |

Hi Hans and welcome.
Do you have Calibre installed on your laptop or are you planning to install it? In what sort of formats are the e-books you want to read (epub, mobi, pdf)? Are they DRM-protected? Provide as much information as you can to get further help. |

Thanks for the welcome - and the answers. Meanwhile I learnt, that this is a DRM and Linux problem. So if I know the reason that's alright with me. I have calibre installed and it works fine with the news. I think until I can read e-books on my Ubuntu system I will prefer printed books.
Thanks again Hans |
