Hiya

Newbie to the forum, but have had my PRS-505 for many years and never leave home without it, so looking forward to reading all the posts.

Hope this message is in the right place

Hi chedstog and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a 505 for over three and a half years and really like it!

Thanks for the welcome - and yes, I would feel lost without my 505. I left it at home one day and didnt know what to do with myself.

Good to have your company, Chetstog. My number one device for recreational reading is also the no-bells-and-whistles, good ol' 505 I've had for trouble-free years. Gosh knows how many great books Ive read on it -- several hundred at least. If it ever gave up on me, I'd try to find its twin, unused or refurbished and at any price I could afford. I love the wee thing. Nothing since has ever attracted me. It's just so darned modestly competent and loyal. Happy e-reading, mate, and very best wishes. Neil

Thanks Neil, - i've dropped it a couple of times over the last week while reading in bed and the screen seems to have smudged a bit in places but doesnt get too much in the way of the text.

I haven't seen anything to tempt me to replace my 505 - i'd probably get a replacement instead - I only want to read, not download, or make notations, so the bigger the screen the better to get a page on it

I absolutely adore my 505 - no more bulky books to carry on the way to and from work - always something to read when stuck somewhere, especially when there are delays on the underground, the list goes on and on... As I said before, wouldn't be without it - ever
