Irex Left sensor does not work.

Hello everyone! I've been a long time reader of these forums but I never saw a reason to post... until now.

I was just using my DR1000s, as I was scrolling up deleting a collection of books I loaded onto the device the left sensor stopped working. The light on the (upper) left sensor kept flashing green. The first thing I did was try locking and unlocking sensors and this did nothing. I tried turning the device off and on and now, no lights display on the left sensor and the left sensor is not responding at all.

Can anyone provide any insight on what may be wrong ? Has anyone else had this problem before, if so, how would one fix this ?

I Reset the device 3 times, nothing happened. The forth time the problem was resolved! Nevermind

Totalitarian, welcome to Mobileread!

I once experienced the same problem as you (although with the right sensor). In the end and after many unsuccessful tries to revive the sensor it showed that this was a symptom of a low battery. After charging thoroughly the sensor worked again. But of course, there may be other reasons for a nunfunctioning sensor.
Hope your sensor will come back to life soon!

Edit: Oh, I've been too slowly! Glad it works again!

Was going to post something similar to Billi. iRex has said in the past that low battery conditions can cause funny things to happen with the sensors (it's also been known to cause temporary "line out" errors in the display). The first thing I would try is to make sure the battery is charged.

We've also seen issues with third party wall charges, that don't strictly follow the USB voltage spec, causing issues with the sensors. The DR1000 seems to be fairly picky about the power that it is getting.

Thank you both for your replies. I'm going to leave it charged for a while to make sure the issue does not happen again.
