ff.net download by author

Hello ladies and germs,

I follow several authors on ff.net that have LOTS of stories and downloading each story separately takes a while and can be a pain. I had searched and found a solution using a recipie by ilovejedd that took advantage of his server. Unfortunately, around June 6, it stopped working. I'll get the story and chapter titles, but the chapters are empty. Does anybody have a solution to download an author's entire body of work? I tried PMing ilovejedd but haven't gotten a response yet. I'd also like to try a solution that isn't dependant on someone's server.

All of the fanfiction downloaders seem to only go by story. I'm sure a lot of people would download an entire author. It seems like it wouldn't be a huge leap to provide the author's RSS feed (which ilovejedd's uses) to get the story links. I just don't have the know-how to accomplish it.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are a lot of recipe requests and only a limited number of volunteer authors. Possibly no one is interested in that site or there's no one with time to tackle it. Also, the post doesn't have much detail about the structure of the site or the problem to be solved or what he's already tried and how it failed. Details like that are more likely to attract interest and a response.

I also would like to be able to download directly into Calibre from ff.net but do not know how to set up the recipe. I don't mind downloading one at a time as I only download my favorites. Right now I have to use a separate downloader for ff and then move it into Calibre. Seems like I should be able to do this in Calibre. Please help?

Do you have the recipe for downloading individually? If you do I sure would appreciate having it? Please.

The only way I have to download individuall would be the recipe that uses someone elses server. I don't know if he's fixed his end or not. I'm currently stuck with downloading outside of calibre and importing it in as well. It's not a huge problem, but it does slow things down. I had to modify my organization since with the recipe I was able to have one "ebook" with all stories by one author. Made a nice clean easy list in calibre. Now I can download all stories by an author, but they're all separate and I can only import them as separate ebooks. Oh well, just means I'm taking advantage of the author and series metadata now. I know the calibre guys are possibly working on downloading from places like ff.net. I'll just have to be patient.

It's up to 1.0.2 and seems to be working fairly well for downloading fanfiction inside Calibre.
