question about the font hack

hi all,

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but I have trouble understanding how the Font hack works....

I've installed the font hack on my dxg (through the "update your kindle thing). So far so good. It seems to work as all since the font have changed in my kindle...

However, is there a way for me to choose what font I want the Kindle to use?

More specifically, I'd like my kindle to be able to display phonetic symbols, usually embedded in unicode fonts. Now I have these fonts, but how do I make my Kindle use them?
