PRS-650 On-Off Switch works sporadically

The on/off switch on my 650 Touch has started giving me problems. I can't seem to put the reader to sleep. The switch works perfectly well in turning the reader OFF and back ON again but will not go into sleep mode.

If I leave it sit on an open book page, it will not automatically go to sleep in 10 minutes as proclaimed (it did until last week). In fact it will not go to sleep on its own if left all night and in the morning the battery will have run down to nothing.

I suspect it is a software problem because the swithc works OK on other functions.

HELP!!
