Is there a way to bulk remove Tags
I have several hundred tags on only one book each. Is there a faster way to remove then tag management. I have to go back to the main screen to see which tags I need to remove and when I do that it freezes.

Highlight the book or books and go to edit metadata, check remove all, then ok.

Amplifying on dwanthy's post, sort the tag browser by popularity to get the 1-entry tags together, select all books in the library, bulk-edit metadata, then enter the one-entry tags into the tags-to-remove list. Completion will help you enter them quickly.
Alternate approach: use right-click in the tag browser to rename the 1-entry tags to DELETEME. This is easy if you put DELETEME into the clipboard and paste the value into the rename box. When done, delete the DELETEME tag. |

Alternating on dwanthy's post, a way to bulk delete "notes" would have been a help, had to do mine individually. ( By notes, I mean a custom column, "long text like notes")
I bet there was a way? right? dam. ![]() |

Select the books to be affected, then bulk metadata edit, search/replace, regular expression mode. Search field = your comments field. Search for: .* Replace with: leave empty |

Guessed as much chaley, not as obvious as removing tags or genre though.

Actually, for me, it's much more obvious than removing tags or genre. The Search and Replace function is incredibly powerful, so once I've learned it, I don't have to learn the specialized, more specific, ways of dealing with tags or genres through the other "simpler" interfaces.
I often find situations like that in using software. The "complex" way seems more difficult initially, but it's so much more powerful that you get to skip learning all the simple ways to do subsets of its powerful capabilities. |
