recommended websites for traveling with Kindle 3G
We all know kindle 3G has free 3G connection globally, it is a killer feature to let me choose it other than nook 2. Consider the expensive data roaming fee, kindle 3G is a good replacement for traveller.
I will take my kindle 3g to travel in Euro this month later, below are some good websites what I collected to make my travel easy. Hope it is helpful to you all. I used short url for some sites, you can get original url by typing it in your browser. google map optimized for kindle: http://kindlemap.net online translate: http://m.mikebrittain.com/tr Weather forecast in Germany http://goo.gl/6VgtV Weather forecast in Switzerland http://goo.gl/fhK56 lonely planet for Europe: http://m.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/Europe/g-8 search engine support Chinese input: http://mceng.net Hope it is helpful to you and please share other websites good for Kindle 3G here to help others. thanks and regards, Jeff Last edited by ctos; 07-09-2011 at 12:15 PM. |

Thanks for these! I'm going to Germany next month with my kindle 3g and very much appreciate these, esp. the weather in Germany!
I'm staying with my in-laws who don't use computers, so I will have even less internet access than the average traveler, so I'm thrilled with this! |

It is pleasure that you think those information is helpful.
Here I want to share a method to transfer and use all websites you like in your kindle easily, works for both Kindle wifi and 3G. I am not the guy found it, I got it from Internet. Credit belong to the author. 1. create a txt file in your computer and include all websites you like as below, don't forget "http://" and use short url will make it orderly, for example: lonely planet-Munich: http://goo.gl/2cu0n lonely planet-Stuttgart: http://goo.gl/FokOg 2. save it and name it, for example, "Bookmark for Traveling.txt" etc. Yes, you can create more bookmark files with different usages, it is very convenient. Then send it to your @free.kindle.com account, it will be automatically convert to azw format. 3. Connecting to wifi and receive the file, open it and just simple clicks to access all your favorite websites, no necessary to open browser and access bookmark any more! It really save your kindle buttons! Enjoy it! |

![]() By the way, Quote:
![]() I can recommend a similar site for Japanese speakers: http://matsuu.org/kindle/google/. It is a front-end to the google search, which is optimized for the Kindle web browser and provides server-side Japanese input method. Japanese speaking Kindle users will find other services on the site useful. ![]() Please note, however, the site is run by an individual hobbist (Takuto Matsuu, a friend of mine) using his own PC, so please avoid heavy load. |

Thanks, esp. for the tips on getting them easily on to your kindle. And as it happens, I'll be traveling to Stuttgart, so that site was perfect!
