![]() (15) or (16) (or (17) etc. after the title. If left unchang ed it would be over 300! ![]() So I am renaming every file nmanually. Is there any way to stop this behavior Thanks for any help you can give me.... |

If not this number, exactly where are you seeing the number? Are you using the GUI or command line to convert? Last edited by DoctorOhh; 07-07-2011 at 10:33 AM. |

Thanks for the speedy reply, dwanthny. I used the GuI
Yes, it is in the library, after each file. I don't keep files in the library so it is a pain to rename every file before I move them to storage on a usb device..... Last edited by Bonanza43; 07-07-2011 at 10:55 AM. |

Use Save to Disk, and save to your USB. It won't use numbers in the filename and you can specify any type of name and folder name you want. Then delete the book from the library. (It's a horrible shame to lose all the advantages of calibre if you do this, but it's your computer.)

I will try the save to disk, But leaving then on there is a no go?, Unless Calibre can handle multiple devices (Kindle, Nook, Kobo)

Calibre can handle multiple devices at the lowest common denominator level. Use Save to Disk or Connect to Folder or the Content Server. All work great on all devices. It's only if you want the sophisticated interaction between the specifics of each device and Calibre that you start having to play games.

My books are in mobi, EPUB, and AZW formats.
If I include them all in Calibre library will the program know what goes where, or will it send AZW files to my Nook, Etc.? |

My tiny still buggy program isn't as fully featured as calibre (probably never will), but it provides more service to me already. And it jumps when I say jump. Bonanza, calibre would be the right tool to handle multi format though. It knows the nook need ePub, the kindle mobi, and so on. And will send to device the right format. (And auto convert if need be). |

With Connect to Folder, Content Server and Save to Disk, you specify which format you want to send. Calibre doesn't need to know what the device reads - it just sees a drive (or a connection via the web).

For Send to Device type readers, you can customize the preferred format by re-ordering the list in the appropriate Output plugin preference.
