Path to library too long. Must be less than 75 characters.

I wanted to try my hand at creating separate libraries with something simple - splitting the non-fiction books from the fiction.

When I tried to make the new library folder in the same folder as the other (so they're both in my Dropbox "ebooks" folder), I got the error message:

Code:

Path to library too long.  Must be less than 75 characters.

But...my current library path is longer than that.

Is this a bug? Or is it something instituted at some time after I created my library initially?

The latter. The length previously enforced turned out to be too long in some cases.

The max path length was reduced to 75 from 82 a couple of releases ago.

Hmm...another question. If I create a new library with an acceptable path length, then switch to it, will it allow me to switch back to my original? Or will it force me to move it?

the new restriction is applied only when creating new libraries, otherwise there would be too much breakage.
