Hi, I am new here. I have a kindle and getting an Ipad, I was wondering when registering for Calibre I had to say what my device is, can i still connect the 2 devices up and put books on either device?

I have used Calibre to put stuff onto three devices - two Sony readers and a Nook. It hasn't given me any trouble.

^ yup. Calibre is indeed excellent. I use it daily with K3, Tab and even Blackberry 9700 Bold. Should be no problem at all [though I am unclear on actual iPad support - see calibre tech specs].

Thank you, for the responses, just wasnt sure why Calibre needs to know what reader I use then, confused me a bit (not usual for me).

I use Calibre for my ebook reader, and have used it for my mom's nook. Worked fine. The reason for the question is because when converting books, there are some default options that change based on what reader you have, but for the most part, Calibre is smart enough to handle it on its own.
