Question Reading non-books (magazines, newspapers)

Hi there,

I've tried out two e-readers, and found they vary VASTLY in usability when attempting to procure and read non-book stuff like magazines and newspapers via Calibre.

On the original B&W Nook, I found there was no way to get these items wirelessly, but -- worse yet -- navigation was hellaciously slow and cumbersome.

On the K3, I love how I can set up Calibre to wireless (and without charge from Amazon) send the day's latest stories from the LA Times and Wired and such over the air, so when I wake up, my Kindle has lots of great new stuff.

But -- while navigating these stories is heaps better on the K3 than the Nook -- the K3 still has a maddening issue: when I read one article and return to the list of articles, I'm thrown back to the top of the newspaper or magazine, essentially losing my place (e.g., the fourth category, third page of stories in that category), so I then have to remember where I was and click click click click back to it.

* * *

1) Is navigation on the new Nook much faster than the old Nook?
2) Is reading magazines and newspapers (via calibre, in Mobipocket format) much better than on the old Nook (or K3)?

Thanks!

On the Kindle, can you not use the "back" button to return to the previous page?

Alas, nope, that brings me to the top of the entire file / newspaper / magazine, not the section I was just browsing.

Same with clicking on "View Articles List." :\
