Search inside books; bookmarks
I am interested in an e-reader, including for technical books. Some kind of in-book search is important to me. I'm also interested in the ability to bookmark a location in a book as well. Which readers support these features well, and in which book formats?
The new touch readers are interesting, but it appears the the Kobo does not do in-book search or bookmarks. Am I wrong? How does the Nook Touch do at these? I am reluctant to get a Kindle due to the format restrictions. Thanks! |

The Kindle has no more "format restrictions" than any other reader. It will read any DRM-free Mobipocket book, and it's easy to convert other formats such as ePub into Mobipocket.
The Kindle has perhaps the best searching around. It indexes all the books you have loaded, meaning that you can not only search rapidly within a book, but can search your entire book collection for matches. Pretty much all devices do bookmarks. |
