Tip from Amazon for large numbers of titles.
I tried loading in 1000+ titles and promptly crashed my Kindle twice. Amazon says with large numbers, sub directories help, so for those of you with Calibre, this is exactly what you want. Oddly, this is exactly the opposite of what worked for the nook. Multiple sub directories on the nook caused massive delays where things were fine with 1000+ books in 4 directories.

Strange, when the K3 first came out some folks reported exactly the opposite problem.
Keep in mind if loading those 1,000+ titles all at once you'll notice some terrible battery life until the Kindle has indexed them all. Indexing this number all at once can also cause the Kindle to freeze and/or reboot. |

This is the case as well with stuff like mp3 players and such. Cramming too many cars into a tunnel at the same time usually results in bad things happening. ![]() I totally understand the POV that one should be able to do this sort of thing, but I think it is always best to copy content over in reasonable chunks. Good info on the Kindle though, especially if it is happiest with subdirectories. |

My organization is quite simple. I organize by collections and only have 21 titles loaded:
