How do I authorize2nd reader w/Libraries?
My PRS 600 will arrive tomorrow (darn, I missed the B&N sale on 650). I already have a 350, which I love. I wanted a slightly bigger screen for home use.
How do I let the Reader Library/Adobe Digital Editions/Calibre know that I have 2 readers now? Will my single installation of each program recognize the different readers? I see that Sony update/authorization for the PRS 600 expects me to install an update to the Reader Library specifically for the 600. I already have RL set up for a newer reader design-the PRS350. Should I go ahead and install the 600 update 'over' the 350 version? I think I can authorize the 600 with ADE without a problem, but Its always good to ask... Anything else i should know? thanks, gramms |

The Library software lets you authorize up to six devices, so that part shouldn't be a problem. Just plug it in, and answer yes when asked if you want to authorize the device. If you look inf your account information you should see a list of devices that have been authorized on your account, on mine I have a 950, a laptop, and the Droid app. I think... I'm not at home right now, so I might be remembering wrong. But I do know that you can have multiple devices on one account.

Hi,
I currently have 3 Sony PRS 650 readers and 1 KOBO authorized on my laptop. When I plug in a reader, Reader Library, Adobe Digital Editions and Calibre all recognize the reader and 'see' what books are present on it. I've loaded purchased books from Sony Reader Store and Kobo Book store on all 4 readers. After you open Calibre, you can click 'preferences' and change to the model of ereader you are working with. I don't use sony reader software very much. Good Luck Last edited by teenap; 06-15-2011 at 05:32 PM. |
