PRS-650 On sale at Borders for $179.

Saw it today for $179. Not sure if this is a good price or not for those looking for it.

Also the 350 is onsale at borders website for 99.98.

Im not sure if it was in stock. But they had changed the sign ths week. So I just assumed. I should go back and check.

Just called my borders. The reason for the low price is they will no longer be carrying the sony line. They are making room for the new kobo. So its basically on clearance. Anyone who has a borders call, many should have 1 or 2 left.

I'm glad the Borders near us (walking distance) is already closed. I wouldn't be able to resist temptation otherwise and I already dipped into my savings for my Nook Color.

even at $99, i still dont think i would bite, seeing that the kobo & nook touches have wifi & browsing capabilities. just my two cents...

Really? I would be all over it for $99. The sony feels like a better built device, and has more functional options. Plus you dont have to worry about random updates screwing up your ereader like the current 1.6 update on nook 1. I dont need web browsing and can sideload just as fast as using wifi. In fact I hope if Sony comes out with newer versions of the 350 and 650 they leave the wif and web browser out.

That said the Nook and Kobo touches are great devices.

FYI apparently the Nook browser is so broken it won't even read a wiki page or mobileread. I didn't know the Kobo had a browser. Somebody buy one and review it already.

I've played with a Kobo, and while it is a really nice device, I wouldn't exchange my PRS-350 for one.

Well I decided to get one of those sony 650's at my local borders. I havent opened it yet. I was told they are going to get the kobo touchs soon for display here. I want to look at it first and see how it stacks up to the sony.

I'm envious, having paid $20 more for mine. Our Borders never did carry the 650, and it closed well before now. I'd have to take a plane to get to an open Borders. Or a boat
