cut and paste from anywhere

One of my favorite things to do is to snapshot a link or chunk of text from a webpage and copy-paste it to an email or a text scratchpad.

I have been finding this to be very hard to accomplish with the Android browser.

Am I missing something or is this a thing that could be added at the ui layer to make it more present and available?

I was just scanning the forum for thousand very Feature. I constantly use this feature on my android phone as well as my desktop. It comes in very usefel and saves time not having to type everything when you can just copy and paste.

On my android phone you just do a long press over the text you want to select then it gives you tabs to adjust what text is selected. I would love this feature.

I do not seem to be able to copy text from a document displayed on the eink and paste into the journal. Isn't this possible? Can not do it from the LCD either.

Some protected ebooks (EPUB or PDF) have copy & print restrictions, either an amount per period (day or week, for example) or altogether (you cannot copy or print any text).

Use the "Tool" - "Text Select" from the eInk Menu to select the text, then "Edit" - "Copy". At this point you'll be told if there are copy restrictions. Then switch to the app (on the LCD) where you want to paste, position the input cursor where you want the text, then tap-and-hold and pick "Paste" from the menu. Try this using the Notepad app - it's what I used to verify my instructions in this post.

I can copy to the notepad, but not to the journal.

Ah. That's because the journal doesn't currently have a text input function. You're supposed to be able to type into the Journal, but enTourage had some problems with the feature so they've disabled this. A future update hopefully will enable this.

I agree the journal would be that much better if you could paste or even type in it.

However, I still have to stress the need to be able to select and copy text from web pages and be able to paste in other locations (such as the search bar, a word or excel doc, etc.). I am very supprised the EE does nnot already haave this feature.

Actually, you *can* do this now In the default browser, press the "Menu" button, then "More", then "Select Text". Now swipe the text you want to copy. When you release, you'll see a brief notice at the bottom of the screen saying "Text has been copied to the clipboard".

Now switch to Word/Excel, tap & hold where you want to insert, and "Paste".

To paste into the address bar, tap the address input area to get the fuller input box. Tap & hold in the input box and "Paste".
