To be clear, the shift means more than just fresh ammo for your next Apple-Android fanboy fight: Ultimately, it means better products for everyone. As Android gains greater attention, manufacturers and programmers will have added incentive to bring even more innovative work to the platform.
Good news for eDGe users! Greater marketshare means more app development for the Android OS, many of which will hopefully work on the eDGe. I can't wait for the new Android Market to be unveiled that (*hopefully*) will allow access by non-phone devices running Android.
