You can't it is powering the e-ink screen so you can turn pages. Android is the operating system for the entire device. All you can do is turn off the LCD screen and/or wifi to preserve battery life.

Thank you for the reply. And how can I turn off the LCD screen? (I guess wifi can be turned off with the physical button).

The power control widget will let you turn the LCD backlight down, but not completely off.
Also, if you set the LCD screen to lock on a short interval (I use 2 minutes) the LCD screen will turn off completely if untouched during that time. Press the Menu button twice to turn on/unlock the LCD screen. |
