Calibre now works with the eDGe!

Just downloaded the new version and it works with my eDGe! First connection Calibre crashed but I restarted it and it seems to be ok.

It looks like it is putting the new files on the internal storage in download\news but I will do further testing.

Just excited this is now working. Calibre cannot see the SD Card at the moment and I think this is an issue with the eDGe. When the eDGe is connected to my Windows 7 PC you only see the internal storage in My Computer.

If you add something to your library but delete the file from the Calibre software on your desktop it does not remove it from the eDGe's library. I think it will only remove the copy of the file in the download folder.

So just a first post I encourage folks to give this a try and provide feedback. I have been sending the developer debug information to get this working. This is still in beta and I imagine things will get changed in future releases.

Hi Chris. I went to the calibre link here. Sounds like a dumb question, but is the edge a windows device? Mac? The first thing it asks is which do you need to download.

You don't install Calibre on the eDGe. You install it on your computer be it Mac, Windows, or Linux (doesn't matter) when you connect your eDGe to your computer Calibre nows sees it and can transfer content back and forth. I would read my brief articles on my site about Calibre, DropBox,and possibly the one about getting content from other stores.

I think this is the way the edge works for now. I haven't been able to get any computer connected to the edge to see anything other than internal storage.
