Embedding updated metadata without converting
Is there any way to update the embedded metadata in a ePub without converting it?

Extract the OPF file and edit that to change the metadata. Then put it back and done.

The ePub is a ZIP file. You might have to change the extension from .epub to .zip, do your magic, and change the extension back.

The tweak ePub feature will do the exploding and rebuilding, giving easy access to the .OPF file.

Cool. A lot of times I just want to add the series information into a book I purchased. I'll give that a shot and see how well it works.
