eReader for Textbooks, etc.

Hi,

I'm new to the whole eReader scene, and I'm trying to figure out which brand to purchase. I've read a lot of reviews on sites like Amazon, BestBuy, and this site, and my biggest concern is being able to read PDF files without any DRM interference.

I own a lot of hardcopy textbooks for school, and find myself having to reference them frequently. The problem is, I'm not always in one place, and I can't carry a ton of textbooks with me. As you can imagine, I was excited about the idea of a lightweight eReader.

Here's where things get tricky for me: I keep PDF copies of my textbooks that I've downloaded from the internet on my computer, for the sake of convenience. I have no idea if these PDFs contain DRM coding. I don't intend to purchase electronic copies these books and pay for the same book twice, and I don't have the time to scan hundreds of thousands of pages.

What I would like is an eReader that can:

1. Read PDFs.
2. Receive and store the PDFs via flash drive.
3. Does not transmit or delete eReader content remotely (I read that Amazon has been known to do this with Kindle).
4. Costs less than or equal to $150.

Suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance!

I just got my first ebook reader a 6 inch screen. And pdfs are a bit too much for it. I guess 6 inch is too small for real pdfs. Now converting to epub and keeping the formulas as graphics would make the 6 inch large enough for anything.
