how to organize books in a series by using tags?
I read somewhere that Calibre can help me organize my Nook library by using tags to sort books by author/series and by number. For example, if I have the 7 Harry Potter books, I can organize them by tagging them with Rowling1, Rowling2, etc.
It sounds awesome since my Nook is full of series. I have at least 7 series on there right now that are currently spread all over the place in my "Brain Candy" shelf. I have been playing around with Calibre but I can't figure out how to change the tags and I also can't figure out how to make those tags translate to organization on the Nook itself. Can someone point me in the right direction? |

I am not sure why you would use tags to organise a series as Calibre has explicit support for Series and Series-index. in fact attempting to use the tags field for this purpose seems likely to get overwhelmed by tags used for other purposes.
However I do not have a nook, so maybe this is something to do with the way that someone has mapped the series information when transferring books to the Nook from Calibre. |

Ok, I am not seeing my books organized by series. I clicked on the icon that says series but it only shows about 10 books, I currently have 34 books that are in series. Is there a way to change this? I have read through the help site on the calibre but did not find anything regarding series.

OK The reason you see 10 Series (or less books in the series than you have) is because there was no Series entry in the Series column. That is your job You need to fill that in, either by typing or downloading Metadata (not always available or correct)Select a Book. Tap "E" (for Edit Metadata) Set the Series and (book) Number |

Oh!!!! OK that makes more sense. Now that I went back and added the metadata my books are now starting to appear in a bit more organized fashion. Thanks! I LOVE Calibre!
