work-around for one pesky PDF problem

(Apologies to Kovid for posting a bug report before finding the issue onthe FAQ page)
I had a PDF doc with the documented problem of a special character to represent "ll", which Calibre couldn't convert. My workaround:
1) Open the PDF in Preview and copy all the text to the clipboard
2) paste into OpenOffice (or Word, shouldn't matter). OSX does correctly interpret the "ll" .
3) copy the images into the new OO.o document. This can be painful if there are a lot of images
4) Save as HTML
5) import into Calibre, convert to your choice, problem solved!
