Best places to upload a free original book

I'm thinking of experimenting with offering a "plain vanilla" free version of a previously published print novel that's already for sale on Kindle and Nook. Any recommendations for the best places to make it available?

To get the widest possible audience, probably the best place is Smashwords (www.smashwords.com). But unless you change the title, it is likely that Amazon which catch your offering it for free and do the same.

And as noted by giggleton, a good way to reach MR members is to upload it here.

I get a lot more people downloading from feedbooks than smashwords, over 6 times as many. Pirate sites would be another good place, with the extra benefit that Amazon won't try to price match pirate sites.
