Had a major problem with my 300 the other day and I needed to re-set, which of course deleted all 74 books from the device. Opened Calibre and plugged the 300 back into he machine and simply loaded my books up again - simple.

Well opening up a book was in the middle of reading I discovered that the book opened with a 'no entry sign' ...... All my books, which I've paid for are not able to be opened on the 300. I'm guessing that it's down to DRM. Can someone please explain why books that I bought and officially own cannot be opened by me

Yes I suppose it's just another issue that the publishers want their cake and eat it. Why I pay the same amount for something I can't touch and feel, as I would for a heavy tome, that I can lend to friends, deface or do any number of things, because I can, because I own it ....

Anyway rant over, how does one strip the drm????

Be patient with me, because I bet this question's asked countless times each day

Thanks

When you reset your reader it was most likely de-authorized and needs to be authorized again using either ADE or Sony's software.

We can't discuss DRM removal, but googling Apprentice Alf might help.
