Hack to run executable off SD card?
I haven't been following things too closely recently, but was wondering - has anyone made a hack to run an executable off the SD card (or did Sony lock that down)?
It seems if people want to write new types of readers it would help a lot to not have to reflash each time but just drop new versions on the SD. I'm somewhat tempted to try write a CBR/CBZ viewer. |

It's possible to mount the card with mtools but that screws up Reader's card insertion detector and you have to reboot it. A better solution is to mcopy your binary to /tmp and run from there (it's a 4MB ramdisk). See the .sh scripts in Universal Flasher for details.
