The Economist-Format Question

What's the method for getting rid of the subsections throughout labeled "Related items" and "Related topics".

These are all hyperlinks that don't work and just take up space in the recipe. Not sure if it's possible, but it would be a nice improvement on an already great recipe.

I asked the same question a while ago and apparently there are some devices for whom those links work. Therefore the willingness to drop those elements is limited. I too would appreciate their removal.

They won't be removed if the recipe author wants them in and they work for some devices. Personally, when I write a recipe, I don't keep them, even though my device will follow them. If the reader wants more than the content, they can follow the "downloaded from" link to the original article page and read everything there.

If you don't want them, modify the builtin recipe and create a custom recipe for your personal use that doesn't include them.

Thanks for the replies. If anyone can give some guidance on how to modify the recipe to get rid of these links, that would be much appreciated.

Speaking of the Economist recipe, does anyone know why I don't see the first lines of the article in "Acticles view"?
I only see the title, which gives often no clue.

I don't read it, but the summary in a recipe usually comes from the Universal Feed Parser and the feed itself. Does the feed have a summary?

The Economist (RSS) comes with summeries, but The Economist not. The latter includes more articles but no summeries. Other than that I don't quite understand the difference between the two recipes.

The economist recipe uses http://www.economist.com/printedition/ which has no summaries.

Customise the built-in Economist recipe and change the line
Code:
dict(attrs={'class':['dblClkTrk', 'ec-article-info', 'share_inline_header']}),
and add 'related-items' to the list, like this:
Code:
dict(attrs={'class':['dblClkTrk', 'ec-article-info', 'share_inline_header', 'related-items']}),
Tim.

You can also fix the headers so they look similar to the print edition by adding:

extra_css = '.headline {font-size: x-large;} \n h2 { font-size: x-small; } \n h1 { font-size: medium; }'
