I can think of three possibilities.

A. It's a scam.
B. It's a typo.
C. They're selling a photograph of a NOOK.

I'm just not seeing what the motivation would be to sell it at such a low price if the seller really and truly has a NOOK in hand.

I mean, sure, I suppose that we could all use an entry twenty bucks... but why not sell for, say, $150? or really *any* price that's just a bit less than what a legitimate NOOK will sell for?

At this price, "nonexistent" seems more likely than "fell of the truck".

I remember some time back there was a similar thread about Kindles. Anyway the person apparently just started as a member on April 16th, has no feedback of any sort, and is supposed to have two different items up for sale. The problem is that anyone can list things for sale on ebay. I could list that I have a set of George Washington's false teeth for sale, but it doesn't mean that I actually have the item in question. It does seem suspicious especially since the retail price for one seems to start at $149.00. The old caveat of "if it seems to good to be true it probably is" would seem to apply. I would be very cautious about this sale. I mean if it was a starting bid cost I might be able to see it being set low, but a buy it now price of $21.90 doesn't make sense. I don't know what the cost of production for the Nook is but you would need to sell 7 of them at the $21.90 price on this ebay sale to equal the price of one $149.00 unit. That doesn't make sense to me. I mean say they got them for $75.00 a piece you would have to sell 4 of them to make back the cost of that one unit. You would lose money on the deal. Something just doesn't smell right.

Like Crich said, when it's too good to be true, it's either not good or not true. 68 people as of this afternoon don't seem to understand that.

But yeah, the question isn't whether it's a scam -- of course it is. The only question is exactly what kind of scam it is, and that's fairly academic. I wouldn't buy anything from that guy.

Especially since there probably aren't any on a truck in the UK (or any legally sold to the UK from B&N direct, since B&N is US only on ebooks, so far).

I assume someone probably directed ebay's attention to it and they took action. despite the fact that sometimes people have stories of this or that happening on ebay (I remember hearing of some complaints but not specifics) something that sticks out like a sore thumb would get their attention I'm sure. And someone selling Nook's for well below the normal price on ebay would certainly stand out I'd think.
