Question DRM EPUB books to Kindle

I am considering Kindle, but my borrowed library books are epub format. Can Calibre convert these and load onto a Kindle?

How about epub books without DRM?

Thanks.

Calibre can't, on its own, convert library books for the Kindle; Calibre can't do anything with DRM'd ebooks. (You may be able to find a third-party plugin for Calibre for this. Otherwise, there are other methods to remove the DRM, and the book can be converted.)

Calibre will convert non-DRM'd epub books to the Kindle format. (Mobi/prc.)

Note that stripping DRM from library books is a contentious issue; some believe it's illegal; many believe it's only ethical if you remove the ebook promptly when the two weeks are up. Some believe it's not legal or ethical, no matter how it's done.

We can't show you how to remove the DRM because of forum rules. But it can easily be done by adding a plugin. I liberate the books I buy in E-pub, because I don't like the idea that I can't do what I want with the books I buy. But you are going to read the book anyway so I don't know about the ethics on stripping the library books.

Smile Thanks for your advice

Thanks for advice. I've decided on Nook to avoid the problem.
