Please, someone help me!
Tonight I passed 1,400 books installed in my reader. At a rate of 2 books per week, it would take me close to 14 years to read everything on the reader right now.
And I'm still adding books. I have a sickness. We need to start a 12-step group. |

You just need to learn how to read faster.
I've got 250 books on my Kindle 3 that I got whenever it came out and I've read almost 200 so far |

I have a similar problem with my Kindle 3, but I figure there are a lot worse things to be addicted to than a good book.

Its an affliction that only affects certain individuals including myself. The primary strain of the disease is of the ebook variety but it has been known to strike those of the pbook generation in which the symptoms are much more severe. Those individuals find that the sickness quickly swallows up all the livable space in their residence with the evil blight known as bookshelves

I have 500 books in Calibre. But the really scary part? I have read most of them at least once. ( Ironically, the ones I haven't read are the ones tagged TBR
 ) I tend to weed out the books I haven't finished, once a year or so.

I am feeling pressure with only a dozen or so TBR. I've forced myself to stop following the freebies threads, but I have to get this under control. There are books on here that I really want to read. And now that summer is here, there is even less time to read.

If everything ends up being stored in the cloud, you won't need to install anything. That may or not help. I've got one or two hundred books on my Kindle, I just know that there is something for me to read on there.
With access to a decent book server you'll have access to millions of books, you already do of course, but the connection to your reader is a bit tenuous, with a stronger link, the books might actually feel as though they are on your device. I would suggest formatting your reader and starting again, but a bit slower next time.

Hummmmmm, request for 12 step program and no results - one might assume you folks don't want to be cured
 How about a one step program. Toss reader up as high as it will go on a concrete driveway. Cured! Actually I don't count books, I just measure memory - 11 gig and counting and I have Gutenberg's dvd AND GOOGLE!

I had 300+ on mine, until I figured out that it would take me about 6 years to read them all. I now only have 40 on my reader, and only download books when I'm sure I'll read them (at some point

I'm at 600+. I use Calibre's "Random Book" search option when I'm not reading a specific series, or Book Club selection.
