I am downloading to an SDcard right now, and it is taking forever! It seems kind of weird that it is taking so long. I know it is a big file, but things normally happen pretty fast around here. Hopefully it will do what PB claims. My PB IQ came in last week, and I have been studing up on installing the Coredump-EE repack. If this firmware update does what it says it will do, I will be one happy camper!

I am still downloading to the SDcard. I am at 95%. It has taken about 6 hours! I have to be honest and say I am going to be a little nervous when I put it in my PB. I am waiting for this thing to finish downloading before I leave work. I will do the install when I get home later and post my results.

every once in awhile i get a slow download of one thing or another. what I do is just stop the download wait a moment and start over. seems to download at normal speed then. just some kinda glitch in the matrix.

I'm wishing I had stuck with 2.0.5, it worked fine. Installed 2.0.6 and no longer have covers on my books, and it's not displaying book progress in the reader.
Thought maybe it was some left over files conflicting on the sd card, so I formated the card, and re-downloaded my books, no luck.
I re-flashed, and still no luck. 2.0.5 worked great for me, now I'm wondering if I can revert back.

With 2.0.5 I could delete dicts and voices but only add replacement voices.
With 2.0.6 I can still delete both but now I can't add either.
And the TTS engine still pauses for a half hour between sentences.
Other than that, I can detect no change.

Ah, it seems the TTS files need to be redownloaded or renamed with underscores instead of spaces or parenthesis.

2.0.6 has a female English voice. 2.0.5 had a male voice. I was able to use adb to push the male english voice to the appropriate directory and that works fine. I was also able to use adb to push the Meriam-Webster and Oxford English dictionaries I had converted from xdf to dic format (for my PB360) to the appropriate directories and they are also found. Moon+ Reader Pro still does a much better job with TTS than the built-in reader. I prefer the male voice to the female one.

If I am reading the install instructions (from PB website) correctly, I 'do not unpack' the file. Does that mean I do not unzip? Is it saying that I put the compressed file (on the SD card) in my PB and load it like that?

You are dealing with an old guy who is slowly clawing his way into the 21st century. We just got off of dial up about 6 months ago and it is like a whole new world for me. We do not have access to high speed internet where we live.

You do not unzip the file. Just put the zipped firmware in the root directory of your SD card.

Hold the volume up button and press and hold the power button until that little android guy shows up.

Out of curiosity, what are the appropriate directories?
Unlike the PB360 (and 2.0.3) the IQ now seems to be hiding the dictionary directory.

Btw, if the name is right, you can install the TTS voices from the file manager.
It worked fine...
...until the Reader crashed and nuked the complete installed apps system; nothing ran and all showed 8 bytes in size. A reboot resulted in a FC loop of the launcher.
Total loss; I had to start from scratch again.
I'm not touching any of the PB apps until the next firmware release, if ever.
If it happens again I'm going back to 2.0.5.

I think I have to start fresh. Not liking this at all.

Q: are you in folder mode or shelf mode? As I recall, there's no cover in folder mode.

I'm in shelf mode. I even cleared everything through privacy, and then re-flashed. Downloaded all of my books again into sd card, and still do not have covers or progress on my books.

You need adb to see the directory since its on an ext2 partition. Maybe thats why installation is disabled... they changed the install location but maybe installing is going to the wrong directory.

/sd_data/packages is where both the dictionaries and tts voices go. I had the US male tts directory from the 2.0.5 firmware zip file "tts.en.us.male". The voice files on the website are in a PBI file which seems to be a password protected zip file. I tried installing the UK english pbi files from file manager on the IQ but it didn't work.

I created directories for my dictionaries /pb_data/packages/dic.oxford and /pb_data/packages/dic.mwc and put my mwc.dic and oxford.dic files in the appropriate directory. I also put an _scriptInstall in each that I modifed from the original english dictionary directory but I am not sure if that is needed.
