Some Real Hotsync problems

1. I can perform synchronizations on two computers.
2. I use Act! Link, a 3rd party conduit manager for contacts on Palm on computer 1.
3. I bypass (shut off) conduits for contacts on computer 2.
4. My database (altered in computer 1 and 2 but only synced to computer 1) resides on a USB memory device.
5. Computer 1 (xp)(cable cradle) computer 2 (98se)(bluetooth)

A. Syncing on computer 1 works in all cases, except AFTER I have performed a hotsync on computer 2.

On computer 1: First, I overwrite the Palm w/Act data and then do a 2-way hotsync everything is fine. I can take the memory to the 2ndary computer and alter database and return to Computer 1 and hotsync - it works. I can alter data on palm and do a two way sync - no problems. All of these work and don't at all seem affected by op sys or sync method. I


I can do a sync on computer 2 w/no problems (I sync Avantgo mainly and a few other programs). BUT, when I return for a 2 way contact hot sync on computer 1, the system gets hung up here and seems to be spinning for hours.
