PRS-950, Ghosting after shutdown

I have ghosting whenever I bring up another screen (like the dictionary) and exit back to the book I'm reading. If I then go forward a page then back it usually disappears. From what I've read this is typically normal.

What I'm more concerned about is that I have ghosting *after* I shut the unit down (powered off). I see the "stop sign" with the exclamation point in the center of the screen like a faint watermark.

Is anyone else experiencing this type of behavior?

I'm wondering if my unit is defective or if this type of behavior is normal.

Hmmm... I'm not sure, but when I shut down, I can still see a very faint outline on the screen. Not words, mind you, just a darker rectangle where the actual page might have been if a book was opened.

Same thing here. I think it might be normal.

I just checked mine, same here. Probably just a function of the e-ink screen.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but would this be considered an acceptable level of ghosting?

The Kindle 3 apparently has ghosting as well. I suppose you guys are right--it's inherent with the E-Ink screens.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...le+ghosting%3F

The Kindle has the ability to refresh the screen using Alt-G. Is there any such option on the PRS-950? I haven't seen one myself.
