Sony Readers: Finer control over zoom level
Hello,
I've got a question concerning font sizes on Sony Readers. My PRS-350 has 6 zoom levels (xs, s, m, l, xl, xxl). However, for me personally, 'xs' is definitely to small, and 'l' and bigger is definitely to big. That means that I only use two zoom levels. Occasionally, I'd like 's' to be bigger, but 'm' seems to be to big. So, what I'd like to do is to somehow change existing zoom levels to be less extreme. Here's an example: Assuming right now we have predefined values like this (just guessing): Level -- Size (in pt) xs -- 6 s -- 8 m -- 11 l -- 14 xl -- 18 xxl -- 24 I'd like something like this: Level -- Size (in pt) xs -- 7 s -- 8 m -- 9 l -- 10 xl -- 11 xxl -- 12 Hope I made my point understandable... ![]() Any ideas if and how this could be done, either on a per book basis with calibre or on reader basis with different firmwares? I'd also be happy about links to similar threads in this forum (I couldn't find any)... |

I use Calibre to convert all of my books to ePub. Under Preferences/Common Options/Look & Feel, I set Base Font Size to 16 and line height to 120%. This gives me a small that is large enough for me to read easily. You might need to play with it at first to find the values that are right for you, but once you set them, they're applied to every book you convert.

I played with it a little bit and it seems it doesn't really solve my problem. The point is my 'perfect' font size depends on light condition, mood, having glasses or contact lenses,... and varies on a daily basis. ![]() So, sometimes I would make the text just slightly bigger or smaller, without using Calibre every time. |

Seems as if I have to give the custom firmware a try after all. ![]() |

If you decide to install PRS+, have in mind, that path to autorun script is different: /database/system/PRSPlus/prsp.sh
