Library books on iPad?
I registered and got a library card because I was going to buy a Sony ebook reader. Now I got an iPad2 and wonder if I still can borrow books or do I need to install overdrive?

Haven't tried it, but it appears that with the Overdrive app you should be able to borrow books.

For Adobe DRM on the iPad you should be able to use the Overdrive app, Txtr or Bluefire to the best of my knowledge.

txtr does not work with library eBooks. Overdrive and Bluefire do work with ePub and maybe PDF.
