File managers and the Kobo

Since a lot of titles on my Kobo come from non-Kobo sources, I need a file management tool for copying to and removing eBooks from the Kobo. My two main tools are calibre and the Windows Explorer.

I have run into problems using either calibre or Explorer to delete books from the Kobo. I removed perhaps 15 books with Explorer, and when I booted the Kobo, the screen said "no books". I restored an image, and all was well. I then removed the books using the "remove book" function on the Kobo.

I think the problem is that the Kobo's database is not updating the deletions and the database becomes corrupted, I believe.

No, it never occurred to me to eject the device from calibre. I always eject the device from Windows. hmm, I'll give it a try. Thanks!

i always make sure to close calibre then eject the kobo from windows and remove, no problems as of yet using that system.

eject is key, you can get major errors if you just yank it out of the pc if find. so proper care is always recommended with using the kobo.
