replacing daily news feeds
I've been using Calibre for about a month now to fetch news from the web every day and transfer them across to my iRiver reader. The thing is that the news feeds from the previous day remain on the device, and are not replaced by the latest edition of the news feed. This means I have to manually go through each news feed, deleting them, every day, which is a bit time consuming. Is there a way to automatically replace the old news feeds with the new ones?

If you don't want the date in the title, you can add the line Code:
timefmt = '' Then the title will be always the same. Depending on how you send, that may overwrite for you. |

Ok thanks that seems to work from the 1 test run I did with a custom news source. I did the 1st download, then a few hours later another one and it replaced it ok. For anyone else wanting to do this, changing built in recipes is a bit more work, you have to add it as a custom recipe then edit it as above, see the "Using News Recipes: Start Here" sticky and go down to the How do I modify a builtin recipe to make it work better? paragraph for more info if you need to. Thanks again for the help Starson!

This isn't working as I hoped, and I have tried disabled every option relating to dates I can find. Although the [day, date] is no longer there, the date is still added at the end (no day any more), without the [] brackets. its in the format title_year-month-day if that helps. I think this might be a iRiver Story related problem, but this is really just a guess. I would post the options I've changed but can't access the preferences atm as its downloading newsfeeds right now. Maybe there is more code that is adding the date to the titles?
