Can't seem to get started adding books to library from Kindle for PC

It's the first time using Calibre for me. I'm trying to add books to calibre so that I can sync these to ibooks on my ipad.

However I have some ebooks in the kindle for pc app and also some ebooks in adobe digital editions (bought from kobo).

Although I can install the drm removal plugins as mentioned in one of the other threads, however I can't even seem to add books from those 2 sources to the library.

Can anyone help?

Normally from within Calibre you would click on the big Add Books icon at the top left, and then browse to where the books you want to add have been stored. Selecting the books and then OK should add them.

I think you need to provide a bit more detail on how you are trying to add the books rather than a simple "it does not work" description.

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear. I saw the add books icon, and can add an ebook which isn't from Kindle or Adobe DE. I suppose I'm specifically asking where do these applications store their ebooks and do I add these via the add ebook icon as per other ebooks?

Thanks.

When your device is connected and the task wheel (at the bottom) stops spinning, it should an icon(s) on the button-bar for your device storage sections. Click it

Now you should see the books on that storage section of your device.
select some books (no tick mark, indicates not found in your library). Right-click: 'Add to Library'

On a PC look in My Documents. There should find My Kindle Content (Kindle4PC) and My Digital Editions (ADE) there.

Brilliant that fixes it. I was looking in programme files before, I should have checked there. Very silly.

Thanks for your help.
