Any of you techies thinking about writing Nook apps for B&N?

Many of you have probably already seen this. Anybody register for it?

Yeah, and it's been a freakin' joke. No info or updates at all from B&N support except "in the future..." and "we don't know/can't tell you at this time..."

Yeah, doesn't really look like they have their act together. And from what I read, it seems they want to feature apps that are reader-centric.

I'm betting lots of people will be very disappointed when (if?) they ever get the apps store going.

This sounds very disappointing. Given the excellence of the NC this suggests a problem similar to Sony syndrome. Nice hardware. Bad corporate followthrough. General cluelessness with a whiff of failing company.

Rooting avoids disappointment.

Yes, and I have a feeling that the weekend of April 2 are going to be "Rooters Weekend". Either they will debut the app store and people will be disappointed at that offerings or they won't and people will get tired of waiting and root.

Yeah, Q1 is nearly over and still no Android 2.2 and still no app store. Meanwhile, rooted Nooks have Gingerbread (2.3) and two app stores.
