Book + MP3 at the same time?
Can someone confirm that the Sony Reader can display a page of text, like from a PDF, while playing back an MP3, all at the same time?
Thanks, Fabian. |

It can. However you're limited to controlling volume. (you'll need to exit out to change songs or to pause it)

So the Sony Reader won't continue on to the next track automatically [where there are multiple song]? Does it just replay the same song over and over?
The user has to change the track each time? I know the MP3 player was an afterthought, but geez, this is really bad.. Thanks, F. |

No, it'll play the songs in sequence, as you would expect. Why not just try it and see?

OK
![]() To be honest, the Reader doesn't make a very good MP3 player. If you have something like an iPod, I'd suggest carrying on using that to play your music. You can play music on the Reader just like you can read eBooks on an iPod, but neither tool was really designed for the job. Use each one for what it's best for. Another reason to avoid using the Reader as an MP3 player is that there's no "Stop" facility, just a "Pause". If you don't have headphones plugged in, it's very easy to overlook the fact that the music is playing, and drain the battery flat without realising. |

The real oddity about the Reader's audio playback functions is that you can mute the audio by pressing in both volume buttons. I mean the reader can't play movies, and it doesn't have an on board speaker, so wouldn't pause have been more logical?
