I was backing out (un-installing) 7.49 on XP and browsing MR
while I waited, when this popped up.Calibre and Firefox

That looks like the Windows installer throwing a tantrum about another application running during install/uninstall, which has been known to happen. What's so strange about that?

I can imagine something like this happening if the search-the-internet plugin is what initially started the browser. All it would take is for a handle to some calibre file be passed as part of the exec sequence, locking that file. It would stay locked until the browser quits, not calibre.

It is worth noting that the bug has been there since the V07 betas. You did something very unusual.
