toc.ncx truncated at 100 characters

Hi, I've seen some discussion before on this, and understand there is no length limit for titles included in toc.ncx, but can't explain what I'm seeing; maybe someone can help.

The input looks like:

<div class="calibre42" id="calibre_pb_20"></div><div class="x--ufe-AppendixTitle" id="calibre_toc_21"><span class="calibre3">Appendix <span class="x--ufe-SaveAppendixLetter">J</span>: Examination Information
for Broker-Dealers, Transfer Agents, Clearing Agencies, Investment
Advisers, and Investment Companies</span></div>
</div>

and the toc.ncx file has:

<navPoint id="35cb1b88-c727-49d6-befa-e946f5d967f7" playOrder="122">
<navLabel>
<text>Appendix J: Examination Information for Broker-Dealers, Transfer Agents, Clearing Agencies, Investme</text>

Any help is appreciated!

This will happen if your input document already has a broken TOC. Use the option to "force use of auto-generated TOC" in the calibre conversion settings.

Thank you, I will try that!

Can you possibly say why the input document might have a broken TOC? Since no TOC exists prior to ZIP -> EPUB conversion, would I be looking for bad HTML, or a problem with the XPath pattern in the configuration, or something else? fwiw, our HTML has been put through HTML Tidy.
