should I add content advisory?

I find myself writing graphic details about the violence in my fantasy genre books. I don't know why, but it's the way the words are falling on the page so I'm going with it.

Should I add a content advisory in the description and perhaps at the beginning of the book, and how much detail should I give if I do?

Like: "Contains sections of graphic violence".
Or: "Contains sections with gory blood and death."

Also, would those scenes prevent it from being YA safe? I don't use any swear words and all of the love scenes stop before things get graphic, which is weird because I approve of love much more than I approve of violence."

I've read YA zombie stories that were just as graphic as any of the adult ones I've read, and a lot of the books that were targetted at YA in the 70s had lots of swearing in them too. YA tends to mean "young lead characters" more than anything else. If it's for Amazon I wouldn't draw attention to anything questionable if I were you. They remove books that generate complaints, even if the complainants haven't even read it.

I hadn't thought about that. Good call.

If I were being attacked by zombies, I'd probably swear too.

I read one a while ago where one of the characters said "oh no, it's biting my arm".

Didn't seem like a plausible thing to say in that situation. Unless it was someone who didn't feel any pain.

Many years ago, I held our school record for taking the most words to say "get off my foot!!!" (it was a bit of a weird school) Sometimes it just works out that way.

For some reason, this does not surprise me.
