No internet connection

Hi,

I have a problem with calibre version 0.7.47. when I try downloading some news, I get the following error massage:

Code:

calibre, version 0.7.47
ERROR: Keine Internetverbindung: Kann keine Nachrichten herunterladen, da keine Internetverbindung aktiv ist.

I try to translate:
ERROR: no internet connection: couldn't download news, because there is no active internet connection.

But there IS a active internet connection (proven by this post). It's a direct connection (no proxy). There is a hardware firewall but I don't think that this could be the problem.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (btw. with the package from the ubuntu repository there is no such internet connection problem, but some others...)

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I solved the Problem by removing "network-manager" and "network-manager-gnome"
