syncing issue

Dear All,

I recently sold my Kindle 2nd generation and bought latest Kindle and Kindle DX.

I use the DX to read technical IT books. Unfortuantely I have found out that when I read a book on my DX and make bookmarks that they don't sync to the Kindle 3 nor to my Kindle iPad app.

Synchronization is turned ON in my Amazon account and both Kindle are registerred with this account. I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work.

Any idea please?

If it's not Amazon purchased content, then bookmarks, notes or highlights won't synchronize. You may be able to jump though some hoops and get the Furthest Read Page to sync... but that's about it.

If you're talking about virgin, untouched Amazon purchases... then yes, you should be able to sync that stuff.

No, I purchased the book from the Kindle store. The book is even listed in my amazon account. Perhaps there are some whispernet issues.

When in doubt, do a restart.

You have done a manual check for new items/sync, right?

I did some further testing and I believe, it's an issue with whispernet on the DX. It works okay from iPad to DX or iPad to Kindle 3.

It appears that bookmarks set on the DX some days ago are not synching to other device, only bookmarks set since last synching.
