whispersync annoyance and work around help request

So I ran into a small issue on my last book and I can't figure out way around it.

Here is what happened. i'm reading a book on my K3G and i also have kindle app on my android phone. Whispersync was working fine until I looked up a reference. When I clicked on the reference it took me to a location 2161 but I was on 650. I then clicked back button and it took me back to location 650. Problem is now my kindle app on android thinks that my furtherest read position is 2161 even though I only got to location 850 on my K3G.

Is there a fix to this? How can I undo location 2161. Book is full of references that take you to location in the middle of the book and until I get to it I can use whispersync to sync between my devices.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
